Omni Tanker celebrates first export order to Europe

19 May 2016

In May 2016, the first Omni Tanks - innovative Australian developed and manufactured carbon fibre composite tanks - will be exported to Germany for the transportation of dangerous goods in the European market.

Omni Tanker Pty Ltd, a 100% Australian owned and operated company working in the advanced manufacturing and composite materials technology space, manufacturers the transport tankers at its Smeaton Grange facility in NSW.

The company's innovative high technology carbon fibre composite tanks are used for road transportation of bulk liquids and are certified for Dangerous Goods transportation. The tanks incorporate patented technology developed in Australia, which makes the tanks lighter, safer and more durable than other competitive equipment.
The light weight of the tanks means significantly greater payloads, leading to more efficient transport operations and the composite technology means they can be used for a wide range of cargoes.

There are now more than 150 Omni Tanks in service across Australia. The company was recognised with the 2016 JEC America’s Innovation Award for Transportation, a globally competitive award from the world’s largest composites organisation.

With strong performance from the tankers in the Australian market and IP protection through granted international patents, the company is now expanding to international markets.

Australia's Prime Minister, Mr Malcolm Turnbull, Mr Angus Taylor MP, Assistant Minister for Cities and Digital Transformation, and Mr Russell Matheson MP, marked the the export of the first Omni Tanks to the European market with a visit to the company's Smeaton Grange, NSW, headquarters today, 19 May 2016.
