Interested companies need to submit the completed Expression of Interest to Composites Australia by Friday 8 May 2015.

The Trade Mission will be from 1 to 5 June, 2015, during which time site visits and meetings with high level industry personnel will be scheduled. The target market sectors for this mission are:

  • Automotive
  • Infrastructure
  • Oil & Gas.

Background

Australia has a significant trading relationship with Malaysia being Australia’s third largest trading partner in ASEAN and eleventh largest trading partner overall. Australia is Malaysia’s eighth largest export market and twelfth largest import source.

Significant opportunities for Australian composites companies to export to Malaysia were identified in the scoping mission and research presented by Andrew Beehag of ACS Australia to the composites industry in February this year. Companies seeking to build relationships and develop export markets in Malaysia are invited to join the trade mission.

Anticipated meetings during the mission include the Malaysian Government Construction Industry Development Board; automotive industry OEMs; the country’s Oil & Gas Services representative body; newly formed National Composites Centre; Malaysian Composites Association and Malaysian composites manufacturers including DK Composites and CTRM (Composites Technology Research Malaysia).

The visit coincides with the region’s largest oil, gas and petrochemical engineering exhibition, OGA2015, in Kuala Lumpur.

This project is assisted by funding from Austrade under the Asian Business Engagement (ABE) Plan. Participating companies will be responsible for their expenses, with exceptions to be detailed in a briefing to mission participants prior to departure.

Companies new to export may find information provided by Austrade useful – view at this link …
