Composites in renewable energy sector

6 September 2012

Composites already play a significant role in renewable energy sector overseas. Other countries are concentrating on making windblades bigger for offshore and remote installation, all of which will feed into a grid and sold to the public at controlled prices.  Forecasts are that Australian companies will eventually choose to rely on power off the grid, leaving opportunities for smaller personalised wind farms within business estates. Storage of renewable energy in composite pressure vessels also remains an opportunity.
