It is with great pleasure that Composites Australia, in collaboration with the Composites CRC and the support of the Queensland Government invite you to attend the:

2009 Conference and Trade Show
Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
Thursday 12 and Friday 13 March 2009

This event has established itself as Australia’s pre-eminent composites conference and trade show. Showcasing the full composites value-chain, it attracts attendees from key industries including aerospace, automotive, building & construction, civil infrastructure, energy, marine, mining and transport. This year, the conference also incorporates SAMPE ASIA.

There are many levels on which composites fabricators, suppliers, researchers, educators and end-users can participate – as a conference delegate, trade show visitor, exhibitor, sponsor or presenter. In 2009 we expect visitors from across Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the world.

Held over two days in the hub of Queensland’s boatbuilding industry – the beautiful Gold Coast - this event offers attendees a great opportunity to conduct business, establish new contacts and learn of the latest industry offerings. Bring the family and stay on for the weekend, exploring the fantastic beaches, attractions and shopping!

Conference and Exhibition 2008

The recent Composites Australia / Composites CRC conference and exhibition fulfilled the association's commitment to bring to the industry the latest information on processes, products and issues for the Australian composites markets. It was an opportunity for all who attended to broaden their horizons, expand their knowledge, and share concerns with an ever-growing composites community. The event attracted delegates from 10 countries and all states of Australia.

Flemington race course, the conference venue, provided a cool escape from the unseasonably hot weather in Melbourne. The comments we have received from conference delegates and trade show visitors have been overwhelmingly positive.

The "Parkinson"-style chat with Campbell Bolwell on the afternoon of Day One engrossed the audience, who heard a chronicle of his life with composites. Campbell, a long term member of Composites Australia, generously lent his new Nagari for display. Attracting unprecedented interest from all composites practitioners, this spectacular two-seater sports car encased in a carbon fibre body and powered by a supercharged Toyota 3.5 litre V6 engine located behind the passenger compartment represents brilliance in composites technology and more than three years careful work. We can all wish!

Conference and Exhibition 2007
Dear Industry Colleagues:
It gives me great pleasure to report on the phenomenal success of the recent Composites Australia & Composites CRC Conference & Exhibition, held on the Gold Coast in Queensland. The comments we have received have been overwhelmingly positive. There were comments about both the quality and variety of the program of presentations, the exhibition and practical demonstrations, along with praise for the poolside BBQ conference dinner and for the venue itself.

The facts speak for themselves:
• 438 attendees; representing a 48% increase on last year this was by far the best
attended conference & exhibition to date
• Of these attendees, 184 were conference delegates
• 34 trade display booths (8 double-size)
• 8 live practical demonstrations repeated at various times throughout the program
• A number of members leveraged the event for meetings with customers and their
sales forces
• The visit to Riviera Marine "sold out" and had a wait-list
• 35 well attended technical and business sessions, plus 3 round-table discussions on
OH& S Issues, Education & Employment, and Research & Development.
• A very popular Welcome Drinks on the Wednesday night for all to meet and mingle
• The poolside "Queensland BBQ" dinner, with roving calypso band "Havana" and
souvenir drink holders for all, attracted 229.
